About Laskuri.co
How a simple Sunday coding project turned into a Finnish calculator hub, and why we do things a little differently.
Laskuri.co started out as a regular Sunday project. I needed a few simple, reliable calculators for everyday use, but the existing sites online felt outdated, sluggish, or clunky to use on a phone.
The original plan was just to code a couple of small tools for personal use over a single weekend. The project took longer than planned, simply because I didn't want to publish anything half-baked or poorly made. Once the work started, it made sense to do it right: calculate the formulas accurately, make sure tax rates and numbers match, and design the site so it's clean and pleasant to use on mobile.
What we aim for
Keeping things up to date
We do our best to keep calculators, tax brackets, and rates up to date as new information comes in. These tools are meant as practical everyday guides: official and final figures always come from your bank or the tax authorities. If you spot anything that needs correcting, let us know and we will fix it.
Clean design and fast performance
Calculating numbers should not feel like staring at an ugly spreadsheet. The site was designed from scratch to be clear, easy to read, and fast on all devices.
Built for different needs
What began as a tiny weekend project grew into a versatile set of tools, covering salaries, Finnish taxes, mortgages, fuel, and everyday unit conversions.
No data hunger
We do not collect unnecessary personal data. You do not need to register, create an account, or hand over your email. All calculations run right in your browser, and your numbers are never stored on any server.
Why does the site have ads?
Nowadays, almost every website and app pushes a subscription, charging more every year for the same or less. We did not want to go down that road.
The calculators stay completely free for everyone. The ads on the site help cover hosting costs. We have other projects too, so a small financial boost makes it possible to invest time into building and maintaining solid tools. That way, everybody wins: you get a functional tool with zero paywalls, and we can keep improving the site.
Every visit, share, and piece of feedback helps move this project forward. Thank you for using the site!
