How do stacked or double discounts work?

When an extra discount (e.g. 10%) is added to an item already discounted by 30%, the extra 10% is deducted from the reduced subtotal, not the original retail price. This results in a total 37% reduction rather than 40%.

How do I calculate the final sale price?

Multiply the original price by (1 - discount percentage / 100). For a 30% discount on a 100 € item: 100 × (1 - 0.30) = 70 €.
